Doonbeg Village

You will notice Doonbeg to the West of limerick

View from my car while driving (nothing was coming, so give me a break).  You’ll notice the wide roads

here.  I’d say the road is about 9 feet wide at this point, and they get more narrow.

Doonbeg is a small village (population 206 according to 2002 census), located on the western coast of Ireland, halfway in between the towns of Kilkee and Quilty.  Doonbeg Village (irish is Dun Beag, meaning “small fort”)  is named after the 16th Century castle, whose ruins still stand on the edge of the Doonbeg river at the edge of the village.  Less than a mile from Doonbeg Castle is another, Doonmore Castle (irish is Dun Moor, meaning “large fort”).

Hayes’ is the main store and gas station in the village, immediately on the left after entering the village

when approaching the Golf Course.
